A lot of nightlife denizens have welcomed the reinvigorated nightspot Los Globos to the scene: Despite being a metropolis with global import, L.A. is not the city that doesn't sleep.

We sleep. And Los Globos became one of a handful of spots where you can actually dance into the wee hours.

But its Silver Lake neighbors have been none too happy. A stabbing over the weekend demonstrated why:

A person was stabbed about 4:20 a.m. Friday at the venue, the LAPD stated.

According to a statement from the department's Rampart Division:

Following an altercation on the dance floor, in which two males were escorted out by security, the victim was found lying on the floor suffering from two stab wounds to the abdomen. Unknown suspect(s) stabbed the victim, causing serious injury and fled.

The victim was said to be in critical condition. It happened, apparently, during “Disco Thursdays.”

The Eastsider LA, which first reported the attack, says it's not the first time violence has broken out at the club:

A patron was shot in the leg as he left the club last September.

Neighbors have complained of noise, public sex and club-goers peeing in their neighborhood.

The old Mexican club was taken over and hipsterized by nightlife impresario Steve Edelson last September.

Anyone with info on Friday's attack was asked to call police at 213-484-3450.

[Correction]: A club representative says this didn't happen during “Disco Thursdays,” which ends at 2 a.m.
