By all measures this year's response to the release of Russian River Brewing's Pliny the Younger was frenzied. Accounts which received the top-rated beer as early as two weeks ago were sold out in the short span of a few hours or days. If you didn't get a chance to sample the beer, the opportunity for you to do so has arisen at three new locations this weekend.

The trend this year was to sell Pliny the Younger in a flight amongst its brethren, a tactic benefiting the brewer and retailer, but also to remind frenetic Pliny customers that the portfolio of beer from Russian River is exceptional. Blind Pig and Pliny the Elder were common companions presented in flights with Pliny the Younger, but it was the generous distribution of some of Russian River's finest sours — Sanctification, Supplication and Consecration — that made us grateful for the presence of Pliny.

Follow the jump for details on upcoming locations and a cheat sheet to the beautiful bedfellow beers of Pliny the Younger.
