If your idea of a good Valentine's Day weekend leans more towards sampling antojitos, saba and parsnip fries with black garlic aïoli, and Japanese-style hot dogs than it does chocolate from a box, you might want to wait on the sit-down restaurant option and head over to the first ever LA Street Food Fest. On Saturday, February 13th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., over 35 food trucks and vendors, including some from Breed Street, will gather at LA Center Studios on 500 S. Beaudry Ave. in downtown L.A. to celebrate, you guessed it, street food.

The event is organized by Shawna Dawson (SauceLA) and Sonja Rasula (UNIQUE LA), who have assembled not only the food component, but live entertainment, a group of over 30 local designers and artists, and a photo booth with food fest props. (If you need a last minute Valentine and for some reason acaraje from Sabor de Bahia won't work.)

General admission is $5; a $30 VIP ticket gets you access to a VIP patio, a private bar and access to indoor restrooms. (Proceeds from the cash bar go to Los Angeles Regional Foodbank.) Tickets are available at the door, but you have to get the VIP tickets online now. There will be parking if you drive, but there'll be a free bike valet, and the venue is a short walk to the 7th and Figueroa Metro stop. For more details and updates, follow @LAFoodFest on Twitter.
