36-Year-Old Woman Arrested after Injuring Officer in DUI Crash near Euclid Street

GARDEN GROVE, CA (December 8, 2022) – Sunday night, Krystal Amy Ramos was arrested following a DUI crash that injured an officer. The incident happened on December 4th, at around 8:45 p.m., in the westbound lanes of the 22 Freeway. According to reports, a California Highway Patrol Officer pulled his vehicle over to help a driver with mechanical issues, when a Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by 36-year-old Ramos, rear-ended his vehicle. The officer became pinned between the vehicles and sustained serious injuries. Emergency responders arrived shortly after and extricated the officer from the between the vehicles. Medics transported the officer to Irvine Medical Center for treatment. Meanwhile, the crash did not injure two children that were in the Tahoe. Police then arrested Ramos and took her into custody under DUI charges and child endangerment. Meanwhile, crews worked to clear the scene and blocked both directions of the 22 Freeway during the length of the investigation.
