Cyclist Pronounced Dead after Hit-and-Run Collision near D Street

LAS VEGAS, NV (February 19, 2024)Kevin Searcy was arrested early Friday morning, after a fatal hit-and-run bicycle crash on Lake Mead Boulevard and D Street. The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m., on February 9th.

As per information from Las Vegas Metropolitan Police troopers, they were alerted by an RTC bus driver regarding a hit-and-run incident involving a cyclist who sustained severe injuries.

Investigation reveals that a 32-year-old named Kevin Searcy, driving a Kia Optima, collided with the male cyclist on Losee Road. The impact forced the cyclist into the path of a Ford Econoline box-truck.

The box-truck driver paused momentarily but eventually drove away. After initial procedures, law enforcement apprehended Searcy and placed him in the Clark County detention center, where he is now facing charges related to the hit-and-run.
