Los Angeles Police Department detectives are looking for the suspects responsible for killing a teenage girl and shooting her friend March 27.
Kendall Williams,18, and a group of her friends, including a 22-year-old man, were talking on the sidewalk in the 900 block of West 68th Street when a black 1998 four-door Nissan Maxima with tinted windows pulled up alongside them about 10:08 p.m. Saturday.
A gunman sitting in the front passenger seat fired multiple rounds striking Williams and her 22-year-old friend. LAPD officers witnessed the shooting and pursued the car as it sped off west on 66th Street to Kansas Street where the suspects got out of the car and ran.
Officers confiscated the car and the weapons used in the shooting into custody but couldn't find the shooters. The Los Angeles City Fire Department transported both victims to a local hospital where Williams was pronounced dead by doctors just after midnight March 28.
The second victim was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg. He remains in the hospital and is listed in stable condition. Anyone with information about the shooting should contact LAPD 77th Division detectives at (213) 485-1383.
