45-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Bus Crash near Southern Avenue

MESA, AZ (March 19, 2024)Joseph Christenson was killed early Saturday in a bus accident on Gilbert Road and Southern Avenue. Police officers responded to the scene around 5:40 a.m., on March 9th.

Christenson, 45, was driving east when his vehicle crossed into the westbound lanes, resulting in a head-on collision with a Valley Metro bus and a truck. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, Christenson later passed away.

Emergency responders closed off the vicinity for cleanup and initial investigations. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
