Vehicle Crash on Chuparosa Street Left One Fatality

WESLACO, TX (February 13, 2024) – On Thursday afternoon, Josefina Herrera Castillo died and two others sustained injuries in an accident on FM 1015.

The accident happened shortly at 12:45 p.m. Thursday on FM 1015 and Chuparosa Street, north of Weslaco.

Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after.

Furthermore, the police said a black 2014 GMC Sierra, with a male driver as the sole occupant, was traveling northbound on FM 1015.

Consequently, a brown 2005 Chrysler Town and Country Van, including a female driver and a male passenger, was traveling westbound on Chuparosa Street, approaching FM 1015.

Additionally, the driver who died in the collision was identified as Josefina Herrera Castillo.

At this time, the total number of injuries from the accident on FM 1015 remains unclear. No further details are public at this time; however, more information will be provided once made available.

Further investigations are currently ongoing.
