Rider Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Crash near Avenue O-8

PALMDALE, CA (October 18, 2022) – Early Thursday evening, Jonathan Lechuga was killed in a motorcycle crash on 14 Freeway. 

The fatal incident happened around 5:40 p.m., along the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway near Avenue O-8.

According to reports, the rider of a 2009 Yamaha R1 was traveling at a high rate of speed and failed to navigate a curve. As a result, the motorcycle exited the road and struck a guardrail.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, responding medical personnel declared the rider dead at the scene.

The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office later identified the victim as 23-year-old Lechuga, of Lancaster. 

Moreover, a large portion of the roadway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

No further details regarding the 14 Freeway motorcycle crash have been released to the public. Palmdale Officials will provide more information once available.
