21-Year-Old Taft Man Killed in Solo-Vehicle Accident near Dennis Ark Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 10, 2024) Javier Mendez Trinidad died Sunday evening, in a solo-car accident on Highway 33. Police responded to the scene around 11:33 p.m., just north of Dennis Ark Road on January 7th. Per reports, the driver of a northbound 2005 Acura MDX made an unsafe turning movement. As a result, the Acura left the roadway and rolled over several times before hitting a telephone phone. First responders declared the driver dead at the scene. The Kern County Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased person as 21-year-old Trinidad, of Taft. Authorities are working to determine whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash.
