After ten months of preparation, Chen Shi, Senior Office Director of InGenius Prep in Los Angeles, emphasized the summit’s mission, stating that their goal is to equip high school students with the skills and confidence to lead. Through the summit, they collaborated with education experts, young leaders, and club organizers to provide students with practical guidance and inspiration.

A summit highlight was the Student Organization Showcase, where 10 student-led initiatives shared insights on organizational growth, social impact, and future goals. Representing diverse fields such as education, sustainability, social services, and the arts, these organizations demonstrated the innovation and responsibility of today’s youth leaders.

To recognize outstanding contributions, the summit introduced four awards: Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Rising Star. The highest honor, the Platinum Award, went to Fruit Sharing, a student-led organization from Sunnyvale committed to reducing food waste and promoting sustainability. The initiative encourages community members to share surplus food, improving resource distribution and advocating for eco-conscious living.

The Gold Award went to Flying Strings Youth Ensemble, a nonprofit that unites communities through music, blending instruments from diverse cultures in volunteer and community events. With members across the U.S., the group promotes cultural harmony through performances.

The Silver Award went to STEMpathy, which brings STEM education to underprivileged children worldwide. Through hands-on learning in robotics, coding, and engineering, it inspires young minds from San Diego to India, ensuring every child can explore STEM in a fun, engaging way.

The Rising Star Award went to SciConnect Initiative, which provides free, high-quality STEM education globally. Led by experienced instructors, including national Olympiad participants, it covers subjects from Biology to Meteorology, making science accessible and engaging.

Among the attendees was Gorden Wang, Founder of the SciConnect Initiative, who joined to explore innovative educational initiatives, understand how they tackle challenges, and gain insights to inspire his own work. He emphasized the value of connecting with like-minded peers and established nonprofits like the Science Olympiad, highlighting the experience as an opportunity for idea exchange and collaboration.

Yosepha Greenfield, COO of InGenius Prep and a Yale alumna, served as a judge and keynote speaker, emphasizing the summit’s role in fostering real-world leadership. She highlighted how the event connects students with mentors and industry professionals, equipping them with the tools to launch initiatives, manage organizations, and create meaningful change. Leadership, she noted, isn’t about titles but about communication, problem-solving, and inspiring others, and the summit provides students with opportunities to develop these skills beyond the classroom.

They bring fresh perspectives that drive collaboration and positive change. We look forward to seeing these young leaders turn their visions into reality.”
