26-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Collision near Frankford Avenue
LUBBOCK, TX (March 28, 2024) – Immanuel Lopez was fatally struck Tuesday morning, in a pedestrian crash at the 5800 block of 4th Street. The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 a.m., near Frankford Avenue on March 5th.
Police report that 36-year-old Dezerae Ortiz was driving in the vicinity when she collided with Lopez as he tried to cross 4th Street. Paramedics responded, rushing Lopez to University Medical Center where he passed away from his injuries on Wednesday, March 6th.
The surrounding roadway was temporarily closed as emergency crews conducted clearance operations. Lubbock police urge Lopez’s relatives to step forward.
