Okay, party people, while you might think that summer DJ sessions in 100-degree poolside heat is the shit, the real season in Sin City starts now (you know, when it's only 80-plus degrees out).

And, just in time, the air routes between L.A. and Las Vegas are the subject of a fare war. Lucky you.

On Spirit Airlines you can get to McCarran International Airport and back to LAX for …

… $67.37.

We did the calculations, and given the 270 mile road distance to Vegas, the average car's rating of 22.4 miles per gallon, and the current cost of a gallon of gas ($3.845, according to AAA Southern California), that's less than a round-trip drive to Sin City, which comes out to …

… $92.69.

Of course, if you fly you'd have to figure out how to get to the party. But many hotels offer shuttle service and, if you're staying on the strip, you can theoretically hoof it.

Southwest Airlines has a 72-hour sale that ends Thursday. It's offering $85.40 round-trip fares to Vegas. The dates, however, apply to the first two weeks of December and Jan. 4 through Feb. 15.

As such, you'd be missing an awesome Halloween weekend. DJs Deadmau5, Avicii, Axwell and Afrojack are playing at the XS Nightclub alone.

JetBlue will do you from Long Beach or Burbank to Vegas and, yeah, that deal appears to cover Halloween weekend.

Party on. And don't be a sucker for bottle service, people.
