Last Friday, Das Bunker, Los Angeles’ most popular Electronic Body Music (EBM)/Industrial dance club night (currently based at Los Globos in Silver Lake), hosted their yearly end-of-the-Summer party. The usual Das Bunker crowd gathered for it, a rich combination of subcultures and music fandoms including Goths of all generations, Industrial and Noise people, Cyberpunks, Health Goths (yes, Health Goths is totally a thing), Dark Ravers and anyone with a taste for anything on the dark side of the dance spectrum. What was less usual was that the party, DJed by Das Bunker's residents (Rev John, Franck H-Bomb, Joe Trauma, The Operative) with special headliner DJ Andy LaPlegua from Combichrist, was themed as a suitably pre-Labor Day “White Party.” Yes, the most hardcore group of worshippers of black clothing in all its textures and varieties in all of Los Angeles was asked to give up the mourning stance for one night and embrace the sum of all the colors in the light spectrum. Though a few people stubbornly stuck to the basic black and many others went for a very chic black-and-white combination, the invitation was a success, as these images attest.
