Lightning in a Bottle returned to Buena Vista Lake over Memorial Day Weekend, bringing with it its vibrant tapestry of music, art and community. The festival is presented by the Do LaB with a deep lineup featuring standouts like Jamie xx, Four Tet, Khruangbin, Sammy Virji, the return of Claude VonStroke, plus a super stacked undercard.
As a camping festival, LiB is an experience that goes far beyond the music, with interactive art installations, morning yoga sessions, wellness workshops, a cassette store, a roller rink, you name it — all lending itself to a Burning Man-vibe, minus the sandstorms and plus a peaceful lake. And, of course, seven stages of ongoing music.

“LIB is in a completely different dimension than any other local show or festival. It’s the most transformative beautiful festival I’ve ever experienced in my life thus far and that’s why I stayed the whole weekend 🫶,” DJ and producer Mary Droppinz told LA Weekly. “I was super excited to share the lineup with every single woman on it, perfectly curated with absolute talent! Thank you LiB.”
Speaking of women on the lineup, LiB was the first festival VNSSA of DJ duo Girl Math ever went to, so it was extra special for her to play there. “The crowd is unmatched. They are down for it all,” she told us.
Nala, the other half of Girl Math was equally hyped — “I love the stage design and community energy. It feels like a real party!”
They were looking forward to seeing Channel Tres, Hamdi and Sama Abdulhadi.

John Summit closed out Day 5 of the long weekend at the Lightning Stage. The sun had set on the final day, but energies remained electric, souls were centered, and new friends made.
