KCRW Broadcast #140 for Saturday, November 12, 2011

Fanatics! Tonight, we are live at the rekkid sto! We will be broadcasting live from Amoeba Records at 6400 Sunset Blvd. Like I would need to tell you that address. Anyway, I will be there doing my shift from 8-10 live at the store. Any excuse to go to Amoeba is a good one, so I am glad for the opportunity.

It is a great night of listening. Perhaps some of you will have to catch it later, as you will be at the El Ray watching Boris and Tera Melos. I would be there but K-duty calls. We do feature both of these great bands tonight, though.

When you listen to the Hamsters track, try to clock how many bands they are ripping off, it's incredible. Start with the Beach Boys and go from there. Mon dieu!

We've got brand new Oh Sees tonight, a great release on In-The-Red. It's another great John Dywer album. I met Ty Segall at the Fun Fun Fun Fest the other night, cool guy. We have not played any of his music for a little while so we will get some on soon. Ran into Dax Riggs as well, he said he's hard at work on writing the next album. Perhaps we will be able to hear something in 2012.

I don't know why it's taken so long, but finally we have some OFF! on the show tonight. I have seen them play five times now, great band.

We have a lot of local and SoCal bands in the mix. I reckoned since we were all together in L.A., at Amoeba and all, that's how we should do it.

Perhaps I will see some of you down there. No matter how or where you are listening from, it's always great to have you here. Dig it live or archive and STAY FANATIC!!! –Henry
