Calendar: Farhang Foundation’s 12th Annual Celebration of Nowruz

Farhang Foundation presents its annual celebration of the Iranian new year with music and dance.

Farhang Foundation presents a daylong celebration of the Iranian new year. The first part of the festival is free, and takes part at UCLA’s Dickson Court from noon to 5 p.m., and the second part is a concert inside nearby Royce Hall at 6 p.m., with tickets ranging from $25-$220.

The outdoor daytime celebration includes performances by Djanbazian Dance Company, Arezoo Kouchekan’s L.A. Daf Ensemble, storyteller Boshra Dastournezhad, The UCLA Bruins Marching Band, and Robyn Friend’s Firuze Dance Company, as well as a children’s puppet show, stilt walkers and a parade.

The evening concert at Royce Hall features Iranian classical and opera works sung by Iranian soprano Darya Dadvar.
