27-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after 3-Vehicle Collision near Newhall Avenue

SANTA CLARITA, CA (January 11, 2024) Emilio Carbajal Cruz died early Sunday morning in a multi-vehicle crash on southbound 14 Freeway. Dispatchers arrived to the scene around 1:35 a.m., near Newhall Avenue.

Preliminary reports suggest that the crash involved a white Chevrolet Camaro and two other vehicles. Due to the severity of the injuries sustained, emergency responders pronounced one individual dead at the accident site. The deceased driver was later identified by the medical examiner’s office as Emilio Carbajal Cruz, a 27-year-old.

Furthermore, another victim in critical condition was transported to a nearby hospital by paramedics. To facilitate the clearing of the scene, Santa Clarita Officials issued a SigAlert for the No. 2, 3, and 4 lanes of the southbound 14 Freeway.
