13-Year-Old Boy Critically Injured in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Collision on Northern Avenue

GLENDALE, AZ (April 16, 2024)Elias Bizzle sustained injuries and Joshua Holbert was arrested Thursday night after a hit-and-run on 47th Avenue.

The incident took place near Northern Avenue just after 7:30 a.m. on April 11th. According to reports, a group of friends, led by 13-year-old Bizzle, was cycling through an intersection when 27-year-old John Holbert collided with Bizzle using his vehicle.

Holbert fled the scene without offering assistance or notifying the police. Meanwhile, Bizzle’s friends remained to help.

Emergency medical services swiftly transported Bizzle to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition. On April 13th, Holbert turned himself in to Glendale Police and was processed on Saturday. Authorities have not disclosed details about the vehicle involved. Detectives are actively pursuing leads to determine who had the right-of-way during the collision.
