One Pronounced Dead after Pickup Truck vs. Sedan Crash near Weiler Road East

SPANAWAY, WA (March 7, 2024) – One driver died early Thursday morning in a head-on collision on southbound State Route 7. Police officers responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m., near Weiler Road East on February 22nd.

Police report that the northbound driver of a pickup truck attempted to pass a log truck but collided head-on with a southbound sedan. The impact resulted in the death of the pickup truck driver at the scene, as confirmed by medical personnel.

Simultaneously, paramedics rushed the sedan driver to a nearby hospital to address severe injuries. Authorities later closed the highway stretch between 304th Street and 260th Street for several hours during cleanup and preliminary procedures. The road was eventually reopened around 10:30 a.m.

As the investigation continues, no additional information has been released by the authorities.
