Two Children, 1 Motorcyclist Injured in Collision on Bobier Drive

VISTA, CA (July 1, 2022) – Two children and one motorcyclist sustained injuries Thursday night, in a hit-and-run crash on Bobier Drive.

The incident happened around 9:00 p.m., along Bobier Drive near East Vista Way.

Per reports, a sedan vehicle exited a grocery store parking lot onto westbound Bobier Drive, directly in front of an oncoming motorcyclist. As a result, the two vehicles collided.

The impact of the collision ejected the rider onto the roadway. Meanwhile, the driver took off before stopping about a mile away in a residential area and calling 911 to report the incident.

Officers responded and located the 31-year-old driver, his wife, and their three children, ages 2, 6, and 8. Paramedics then transported two of the children to Rady Children’s Hospital for treatment.

In addition, emergency crews also took the motorcyclist, who sustained serious injuries to a nearby hospital.

At this time, police officers arrested the sedan driver on suspicion of hit-and-run causing injury, willful child neglect and driving without a driver’s license.

When driving, it is vital to always be alert for pedestrians and other vehicles. This is especially true when you are driving through a residential area, an intersection, or a parking lot. Also, always drive within the posted speed limit. These are set and enforced to reduce accidents and save lives.
