57-Year-Old Man Dead after Pickup-Truck vs Bicycle Collision near Lost Hills Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 9, 2024)Donaciano Bustamante Aldama died early Saturday morning in a bicycle accident on Highway 46 and Lost Hills Road. Police officers responded to the scene around 5:44 a.m.

Shortly after receiving multiple calls in the area, officers promptly arrived at the scene.

According to reports, a bicyclist traveling west on the right shoulder of the highway was struck by the driver of a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado.

Investigators noted that the bicyclist was not wearing protective gear at the time of the incident. First responders pronounced the bicyclist deceased on-site. Subsequently, the Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the deceased as 57-year-old Donaciano Bustamante Aldama of Lost Hills.

Emergency personnel temporarily closed off the surrounding area for cleanup and preliminary duties. It remains uncertain whether the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Additional information will be provided by Bakersfield Officials as it becomes available.
