Diane von Furstenberg’s life and career have taken her from Belgian childhood as the daughter of a Holocaust survivor to a fairy-tale marriage to a German prince to design mogul. Her wrap dress is one of the most iconic pieces in fashion history. (This year, LACMA hosted an exhibit on the 40-year journey of that famous silk jersey dress.) Now, she’s giving young hopefuls a shot on her E! reality show, House of DVF. She’s also authored several books, and tonight, she’ll sign The Woman I Wanted to Be, in which she talks about style, aging and surviving cancer.
