UPDATE at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10: A criminal complaint out of Clark County, Nevada alleges Bilzerian had bomb-making materials. See the latest here.
Playboy gambler Dan Bilzerian was arrested at LAX tonight, police said.
A Los Angeles Police Department official told L.A. Weekly he was picked up based on an out-of-state warrant. The 34-year-old was reportedly in hot water after he allegedly kicked a woman at a Miami Beach club LIV over the weekend.
However, the LAPD official we spoke to said it wasn't clear if the arrest was based on the Miami incident.
Model Vanessa Castano reportedly filed a police report after the incident, which happened overnight Saturday as Bilzerian apparently celebrated a birthday.
The Las Vegas-based celebrity who's perhaps most famous for being famous (he says he made his money through gambling, although reports also indicate his family has plenty of it) is no stranger to controversy.
In May he allegedly threw a model off a roof and toward a swimming pool at his Vegas home, only to miss. Janice Griffith broke her foot and demanded $85,000, only to be rebuffed.
Bilzerian was arrested tonight by LAX police, the LAPD official said. LAX police did not have any information for us, and the inmate data page of the L.A. Sheriff's Department had no record of the celebrity being booked.
