The ongoing collaboration between nonprofit Internet radio station/music collective dublab and the eclectic ambitions of the JF Chen design emporium has produced some fascinating results over the years, as the unlikely allies share a love of progressive local, global and even experimental cultural independence. Both subscribe to a more-is-merrier attitude when it comes to curating the cultural mixing pot. So it's only fitting that this year's annual dublab fundraiser salon, Creative Cultivation, doubles as the inauguration party for the newest iteration of the JF Chen juggernaut. Among the featured guests, sponsors and participants are zeitgeist favorites like The Album Leaf, Grace Oh, Sqirl, Tanya Aguiñiga, Carlos Niño, Grand Central Market, Fusicology and Tito's Handmade Vodka. That means the party checklist includes DJs, live music, art, multimedia/video installations, impossibly gorgeous elements of classic and contemporary interior design, cocktails, yummy catered food and other interactive surprises. Oh, and your ticket is tax-deductible. No wonder they need 34,000 square feet – that's a lot of creativity to cultivate. JF Chen, 1000 N. Highland Ave., Hlywd.; Thu., April 3, 7-11 p.m.; $100.
