DUI Collision near Prado Road Left 45-Year-Old Man Dead

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (March 7, 2024) – Late Saturday night, Christopher Brasket was involved in a deadly pedestrian crash on Highway 101. 

The fatal incident occurred at approximately 11:46 p.m. along the northbound lanes of the highway, just north of Prado Road.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a Dodge Challenger veered onto the right shoulder of the roadway while heading north.

Subsequently, the Challenger collided with a light pole and struck two individuals in a nearby encampment.

Upon arrival, first responders pronounced one of the victims, a 45-year-old man, deceased at the scene. Meanwhile, 52-year-old Christopher Brasket reported experiencing arm pain due to the collision.

Law enforcement officers proceeded to arrest the Dodge driver, 21-year-old Jace Haro of SLO, on charges of felony DUI. Haro was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail and had posted bail as of Monday morning.

At this time, the identity of the deceased victim remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from the next of kin.
