The District Attorney filed a felony complaint against R&B star Chris Brown this morning, charging him with “willfully and unlawfully commit[ting] an assault on ROBYN F. by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury.” Brown is also charged with making a criminal threat against Robyn F — a second felony. The legal name of Brown's girlfriend, pop singer Rihanna, is Robyn Rihanna Fenty. Brown allegedly beat Rihanna inside a parked car in Hancock Park last month, following an argument after a pre-Grammy Awards party. Brown is to be arraigned downtown sometime after 3:30 p.m. today.

Days after the incident published a photograph purportedly

showing Rihanna's bruised and swollen face, taken shortly after the

alleged beating. The leaked image, apparently released by police

personnel, infuriated LAPD Chief Bill Bratton, who ordered an inquiry.
