Chatsworth Metrolink Train Derailment: On the Scene of the Deadly Accident

On Friday September 12, a Metrolink commuter train with 222 people aboard crashed into a freight train in Chatsworth, CA after one engineer failed to yield at a red light. 18 people have been confirmed dead, and over 135 injured. Rescue and recovery efforts lasted late into the evening with over 700 rescue, fire, and police personnel on site. One LAPD Officer who was a passenger on the train was killed.
