Two Dead, One Hospitalized after Single-Car Accident near Willow Avenue

FRESNO COUNTY, CA (March 25, 2024) Chase McCutcheon and Jason Phillips died early Monday morning in a solo-car crash on Copper and Willow Avenue. Police officers responded to the scene shortly after 1:30 a.m., near Clovis North High School.

Reports indicate that a Tesla Model 3 driver was traveling west on Copper when the vehicle collided with a center median guardrail. Subsequently, the car overturned and struck another guardrail before halting. The collision resulted in the ejection of both the driver and the front seat passenger, leading to fatal injuries.

The deceased victims were identified as Chase McCutcheon, aged 32, and Jason Phillips, aged 24, by the Fresno County Coroner. A third passenger sustained moderate injuries and was transported by responding paramedics to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Fresno County Officials are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the solo-vehicle crash on Copper Avenue.
