24-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near Sycamore Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (March 25, 2024)Carlosm Ibrahim Perez Zamora died Friday night in a pedestrian crash on Wheler Ridge and Sycamore Road. The incident occurred at approximately 11:42 p.m.

According to reports, a man walking into the path of a southbound Toyota sedan was struck by its 33-year-old male driver, who was unable to avoid the collision. The male victim was then hit by the 40-year-old male driver of a southbound Honda while lying on the road.

Emergency medical responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. The deceased victim was later identified by the Kern County Coroner’s Office as 24-year-old Zamora from Arvin.

Investigators noted that both drivers involved remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Police have ruled out drugs or alcohol as factors in the incident.
