Two Teens and One Adult Injured after Reckless Driving Collision near Stoney Point Road

SANTA ROSA, CA (March 28, 2024) – Early Saturday night, Carlos Delara was arrested after a head-on collision on Highway 12 just south of Stoney Point Road.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:05 p.m., near Occidental Road. Police officers reported that a white Infiniti sedan aggressively trailed a white Mercedes-Benz while traveling southbound. Investigators revealed that the Infiniti driver attempted to force the Mercedes off the road but lost control of the vehicle.

Consequently, the Infiniti swerved into the northbound lanes and collided with an approaching Honda CR-V.

Emergency responders transported the two 16-year-old female passengers from the Infiniti to a hospital for treatment of minor to moderate injuries. Meanwhile, the 70-year-old male driver of the CR-V, a resident of Larkfield, sustained life-threatening injuries and was also hospitalized.

Law enforcement authorities eventually detained the Infiniti driver, identified as 18-year-old Carlos Delara of Santa Rosa, and placed him in custody at the Sonoma County Jail. Santa Rose Officials are asking those who witnessed the crash to contact 707-543-3600 ext. 8550 or email jfisher@srcity.org
