Today the American Lung Association released its state of the air report. The survey flunked 32 California counties, while awarding 16 counties A's. L.A. County was definitely not among the latter, scoring F-eroos in two categories, High Ozone Days and Particle Pollution. According to the ALA, this translates into bad news for the following at-risk groups: asthmatics, diabetics and those suffering from bronchitis and emphysema.
The report is downloadable after filling out a brief request form online. Separate lists of California counties and their air-quality grades are also available online, as well as the county tables from other states.
