One Killed in Fatal Collision near Columbus Street

BAKERSFIELD, CA (June 25, 2021) – 58-year-old Bryan Weldon died Tuesday afternoon following a fatal collision on University Avenue.

Officers were dispatched to University Avenue and Columbus Street around 4:22 p.m., after receiving reports of an injury collision.

When officers arrived, they discovered a man with moderate injuries from the crash.

Paramedics then rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he died on Wednesday night while being treated for his injuries.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as 58-year-old Weldon resident, Bryan Weldon.

At this time, an active investigation remains ongoing. Once available, more information will be released.
