Undefeated is the temple where sneaker snobs go to worship their shoe of choice. The precise brand of sneaker varies from snob to snob — perhaps it's the Star Wars x Adidas Originals, or the Black/Varsity Red-White Nike Air Diamond Turf, or the Comme des Garçons Converse, or even the Puma Clyde Undftd collaboration made by the store's own in-house design team. At certain times of the year, you may drive by and notice a ragtag line of fanboys camped outside the tiny La Brea, Santa Monica or Silver Lake Undefeated stores. These committed disciples are waiting for a limited-edition sneaker release. Undefeated, you see, carries the rarest of rare brands. Sizes and colorways sell out fast. With a few dozen kicks arranged ever so neatly on floating shelves along minimalist walls, all three Zenlike store branches are more akin to galleries than shoe shops — and as at galleries, pretentious sales clerks are par for the course. It's just part of the agony of the feet. 112 S. La Brea Ave., Mid-City. (323) 937-6077. Also 3827 W. Sunset Blvd., #F, Silver Lake. (323) 668-1315. ALso 2654 Main St., #B, Santa Monica.
