“Free kale.” If those two words don't get you to Amy's Farm, you must be one of those people who still thinks kale is so yucky they can't give it away — or someone who has been living hipster-free for the last year. Obviously they can give it away, because at Amy's Farm that's exactly what they do. As much as you can pick is yours to take (they give you bags), but try to buy some beets or cucumbers or something while you're there. The folks at the farm grow them as well, organic and everything, and all you have to do is make the drive. Free food, people! And get this: You pay by the honor system (suggestions are posted on how much cash to drop in the box). Amy's Farm also schedules weekday tours for students, elementary through college, if you want to see how the magic happens. —Derek Thomas
