43-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Collision near 84th Street

SAN CARLOS, TX (March 27, 2024)Bernardo Santamaria Magana died early Saturday morning in a pedestrian collision on State Highway 107 near 84th Street. Officers arrived to the scene at approximately 6:13 a.m., on March 23rd.

According to reports, a man walking south on the freeway was hit by the driver of a red or maroon Ford Escort who then fled the scene without notifying the authorities. Despite efforts by medical personnel to save him, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased victim has been identified as 43-year-old Magana from San Carlos. The Texas Department of Public Safety urges anyone with information about the driver or the vehicle’s whereabouts to contact them at (956) 565-7600.
