This appreciation of order can help you stay on top of cleaning tasks and make sure your surroundings are as neat as possible.

It Can Make Everything Feel More Cozy

Having some messiness around doesn’t mean you have to live in total chaos; it just means that some areas might have a little bit more personality than others! A well-placed item here and there can give whatever room or space you are in character, making it feel more inviting and cozy than if everything was perfectly aligned and color-coordinated. Plus, having items out gives people something interesting to talk about!

It Can Build Your Immune System

In moderation, being dirty can also be good for your health by building up your body’s ability to naturally fight bacteria and infection. A strong immune system depends on the constant challenge of fighting foreign bodies. When it’s not tested, it becomes weaker, as it has been shown that antibacterial soaps and over prescription of antibiotics has made people more susceptible to sickness because of a weakened immune system.

At the end of the day, there is no shame in being a bit untidy from time to time—in fact, there are many benefits! Messiness can help increase creativity, encourage appreciation for cleanliness, and add character and coziness to any space. So next time you feel guilty about not tidying up (or despise yourself for not having done so sooner), don’t worry! As long as things aren’t getting out of control or creating too much stress for yourself or those around you, go ahead and let loose. There’s nothing wrong with having a little mess now and then!
