30-Year-Old Man Killed, 30-Year-Old Man Arrested after Hit-and-Run Accident near Allday Drive

HOUSTON, TX (April 10, 2024) – Early Saturday morning, Bayron Xitamul was killed, and Cesar Cerrato-Oliva was arrested after a hit-and-run collision at the 8100 block of Sands Point Drive.

Police officers responded to the scene around 6:20 a.m., near Allday Drive on April 6th.

According to reports, 30-year-old Cerrato-Oliva struck Xitamul with his gray Ford F-150 pickup truck. It appears that the truck driver ran over the victim twice before fleeing the apartment complex heading east on Sands Point Drive. Upon arrival, authorities pronounced 30-year-old Xitamul deceased.

After completing preliminary duties, authorities located the stolen suspect vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop and detained three men without resistance. Eventually, Cerrato-Oliva was arrested and faces charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

An ongoing investigation is underway to gather further information. Additional details regarding the fatal hit-and-run crash on Sands Point Drive will be provided once they are available.
