If this story turns out to be true, this woman is clearly sick. God help her. Authorities say 36-year-old Natasha Hubbard grabbed a 4-month-old out of his stroller and swung him by his leg, over her head, into a metal pole protruding of a nearby truck. The woman later allegedly told cops she wanted to break off the infant's arm and eat it. Seriously.
The woman has been charged with aggravated assault.
LAPD detectives believe the suspect might have done this before, and they're asking for members of the public to take a look at her photo and report back to them if they've seen her allegedly go off on other occasions. This incident happened …
… last Thursday about 1 p.m. on Boyd Street near San Julian Street in the Toy District that's also part of Skid Row.
Around 1 PM, Adriana Miranda, 29, was pushing her infant son, Alexander, in a stroller on Boyd Street, near San Julian Street in the Toy District. The baby was belted in his infant carrier, with Adriana's sister walking nearby. Without warning, Hubbard unbelted the child and grabbed him by the leg. Witnesses described her as swinging the child over her head, and slamming him into a metal rail of a nearby truck.
“The mother and aunt fought off the woman and Mom grabbed the baby,” says Lt. Paul Vernon. “Hubbard attacked Adriana, scratching and clawing her as she clutched Alexander in her arms.”
The mom and the aunt ran into a store as the suspect fled, according to the department. (The store owner allegedly pushed the victims back out on the street, cops say. Way to go).
Officers quickly grabbed Hubbard, who was booked on suspicion of aggravated assault and held in lieu of $30,000.
Luckily the baby only sustained “bruises and scratches” according to the LAPD. Mom also escaped with minor injuries.
