Calling all Paris-ites: Cur-Ate aims to marry arts both culinary and fine with “The Parisian Salon,” an initiative between Ray's & Stark Bar (who run the LACMA restaurant concession) and Maite Gomez-Rej—n (the dishy doyenne of culinary contextualists ArtBites). The Salon unveils the connection between food and art in a gallery setting, and just when it's time to get up and stretch at the end, executive chef Kris Morningstar (formerly at District and Mercantile, now of Ray's) presents a three-course meal based on the art you've just seen. France during centuries 17 through 20 will be the focus, of course, and a French wine menu by sommelier Paul Sanguinetti will be available at an additional cost. Cake, however, remains conspicuously absent from the menu. September's Cur-Ate Salon deals with American comfort food, but this one is going to be the more interesting and exotic one — french fries notwithstanding.
