Driver Sought Following Hit-and-Run near Holloway Road

BUTTONWILLOW, CA (July 10, 2023) – Early Saturday morning, Arella Alonso was hospitalized after a hit-and-run collision on Highway 46. The incident happened at around 2:50 a.m., in the eastbound lanes of State Route 46, just west of Holloway Road. Upon arrival, authorities learned that a speeding vehicle rear-ended an eastbound gray 2021 Nissan Versa. However, the driver of the speeding vehicle immediately fled the scene before the police arrived. According to the investigators, the evidence found at the scene revealed the suspect’s vehicle to be a dark-colored 2015-2019 GMC Sierra 2500 HD. The GMC was also believed to have major-front end damage from the crash. Responding medical personnel transported the Nissan driver to Kern Medical for treatment of serious injuries. The victim was later identified as 18-year-old Arella Alonso of Hemet.
