There is a common path emerging for wrestlers who are released by the WWE, and we don’t just mean a name change and moving to the independent circuit. No, it’s becoming increasingly common for wrestlers to announce they are launching an OnlyFans account mere days after any non-compete contracts expire. And with good reason, because platforms like OnlyFans offer these wrestlers a way to expand their revenue stream and connect with their fans in ways that the WWE could never provide.
Cora Jade is the most recent star to make the leap from the WWE to OnlyFans.
She was released from the WWE in early May along with a handful of other WWE stars, including WWE NXT star Gigi Dolin. While both women deny it, some reports claim the release was made because certain wrestlers weren’t putting in enough effort during training. Jade has claimed that she was body-shamed in the WWE, and that it was a part of the decision.
Whatever the reason, Jade has officially announced her retirement from the WWE, as well as a name change back to Elayna Black in a now-deleted tweet.
“Dropping out of high school at 15 to chase my dreams was scary but I’m so thankful it worked out for the time that it did! I got to live out so many childhood dreams, go so many places, do so many things and most importantly I met some of the most important people in my life that I know I’ll have in my corner forever.
Unfortunately it didn’t go how I envisioned and I’m disappointed by a lot of things but I can look back with no regrets and know I did everything with love and passion and always stood up for myself, even in the times I was scared. I’m proud of myself for that.
With all that being said, TRUST that this is not the end and only my new beginning. I have a lot to say when the time is right. I have so many ideas and am excited for the future and to be able to show what I truly am capable of. Elayna Black is back!”
And so she is, booking her first post-WWE fights. Jade is set to compete at several events in June, including the Black Label Pro event in Crown Point, Indiana, the Top Talent Wrestling show held at the Midway Music Hall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and the Atomic Legacy Wrestling Star Spangled Slammer 9 PPV at the Ocean Front Center in Daytona Beach, Florida.
But June is also when Jade plans to begin releasing content on her newly announced OnlyFans account. According to her account which is currently active (just without content), she will begin posting on June 2 due to a 30-day non-compete clause with the WWE. It costs $15.99 a month to subscribe, though it’s not clear exactly what kind of content she will be sharing.
Jade joins other former WWE stars like Bea Priestley who just launched her account on May 8, as well as Scarlett Bordeaux and Toni Storm on the platform.
