Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision near Regents Road

SAN DIEGO, CA (October 14, 2022) – 39-year-old Andrea Zerlina Salinas lost her life Monday morning in a two-car collision on State Route 52.

The incident took place around 8:49 a.m., near Regents Road on October 3rd.

Officers say Salinas was driving a Hyundai Elantra east on the highway when the driver of a Toyota Camry failed to stop at a red light at the intersection. As a result, the 45-year-old male driver of the Toyota slammed into the Hyundai.

Responding officers pronounced Salinas dead at the scene due to the extent of her injuries.

Meanwhile, paramedics took the Toyota driver to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries that were reported to be non life-threatening.

San Diego police continue to investigate the two-vehicle collision and will release updates once available. Local authorities also ask anyone with information to contact the listed Command handling the investigation or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
