Girl Scout Cookies season has begun and scouts will start delivering cookies in person on Sunday, Jan. 28. Here’s everything you need to know about securing your Thin Mints, Samoas, Tagalongs, Adventurefuls, and more:

  • If you don’t know a Girl Scout:
    • Visit www.girlscoutcookies.org or text COOKIES to 59618* to find cookie booths available in your area. Learn more about the Terms and Conditions and the SMS Privacy Policy.
    • Beginning Friday, Feb. 16, enter your zip code into the Girl Scout Cookie Finder to purchase from a local Girl Scout troop online for shipment to your door, or to donate cookies to local causes.
    • From Friday, Feb. 9, through Sunday, March 10, Girl Scouts will begin selling cookies in front of participating public locations around Greater Los Angeles.

Last year, nearly 20,000 Girl Scouts in Greater Los Angeles (GSGLA) created their own cookie businesses and sold a total of more than 4.9 million packages, with Thin Mints and Samoas continuing to be the most popular varieties. Girl Scouts enlisted support from consumers to donate about 213,000 packages of cookies to nonprofit community partners through the Cookies for the Community program. Additionally, GSGLA cookie entrepreneurs set goals and, collectively, opted for a portion of their cookie rewards to be a donation to Aquarium of the Pacific, in honor of the 2023 cookie program mascot, Coral the Dolphin, which resulted in a contribution of more than $6,200.

Awards season is in full swing and THE Blvd Restaurant is honoring the return of glam with a limited-time croissant. Executive Pastry Chef Riccardo Menicucci was inspired by the reel of film at the base of the Oscar statue, signifying the five original branches of the Academy (actors, directors, producers, technicians and writers). The braided effect of the croissant represents those and the other disciplines in motion pictures now included in the awards show. The croissant is topped with 24k gold and is filled with dulce de leche and almonds.

Citizen Public Market’s chef residency space in Culver City has added a new concept, Gary’s Wood-Fired Pizza, to its weekend evening offerings starting today. In addition to market mainstays Go Go Bird, Uoichiba, Bang Bang Noodles, Jolly Oyster, WeHo Sausage Co, Good Boy Bob and Bar Bohemien, Citizen Public Market also entertains with trivia on Tuesdays, stand-up comedy on the back patio on Wednesdays, and magic and live jazz on Thursdays.

National Green Juice Day is on Friday, Jan. 26, and Tender Greens is celebrating with a special offer: a complimentary green juice with any purchase over $15. It’s signature The Greens juice is a blend of spinach, kale, cucumber, green apple, ginger and celery,  designed to boost immunity, aid detox and revitalize energy.

Shochu Month kicks off today through Saturday, Feb. 17, with signature Shochu highball and craft Shochu cocktails available at nine Los Angeles bars: Accomplice Bar, Death & Co, Employees Only, Gold Line, Redbird, Steep LA, The Lincoln, The Semi-Tropic, and Thunderbolt. Each bar will serve two unique cocktails specially developed by top mixologists in Los Angeles using Shochu — an interpretation of JFOODO’s signature drink, the Shochu Highball.  A Shochu Night event takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Redbird, featuring special guest bartender Takuma Watanabe, one of the founding members of Bar codename Mixology. Watanabe has more than  20 years of bartending experience, including ranking in the World Class Top 10 in the Casa Noble cocktail competition, and is the head bartender at Martiny’s in  New York City.
