22-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead Two-Car Accident near Lake Bryan

BRYAN, TX (March 27, 2024)Alyssa Schoeneman died late Sunday morning in a head-on collision on OSR just north of Lake Bryan. The incident occurred at approximately 11:20 a.m., on March 24th.

Police report that the driver of a 2019 Kia Optima heading east attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone, resulting in a head-on collision with a westbound 2009 Toyota Corolla. Emergency responders pronounced a passenger in the Toyota, identified as 22-year-old Schoeneman, deceased at the scene.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the Toyota’s driver, 22-year-old Joshua Koppenol, and the Kia’s driver, 17-year-old Alan Hernandez, to a nearby hospital. A single driving error can escalate into a severe car accident.
