An Interview with Tech Expert Rouble Malik

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face unique challenges when it comes to advocating for secure and ethical technology practices. While larger organizations often have dedicated resources and expertise in cybersecurity and ethical considerations, SMEs may struggle to navigate these complex issues due to limited resources and competing priorities.

But the need for secure and ethical tech practices is just as critical for SMEs – if not more so – as they are both increasingly targeted by cyber threats and entrusted with valuable customer data. It’s integral for professionals in the industry to advocate for secure and ethical tech in the SME sector.

One of the emerging experts in this arena is information security professional Rouble Malik, an expert in cloud computing and cybersecurity. He has agreed to discuss his insights about ethics and security, including his own efforts in promoting responsible practices, raising awareness about cybersecurity and data privacy, and promoting transparency and strong governance within the tech sector.

Q: Can you tell us about your efforts in raising awareness and sharing insights on cybersecurity and data privacy?

Rouble Malik: Absolutely. I actively engage in industry discussions, participate in forums, and leverage social media platforms to raise awareness about the latest cybersecurity threats and best practices. Through my articles, blog posts, and thought leadership, I hope to empower professionals and organizations with knowledge and practical advice to enhance their security posture and protect sensitive data. Q: What can you tell us about the specific needs of SMEs?

Rouble Malik: We must be aware of the unique challenges faced by SMEs in the tech industry when it comes to cybersecurity, data privacy, and ethical considerations. SMEs often have limited resources and expertise to navigate the complex landscape of technology-related risks. Unlike large corporations, they may not have dedicated cybersecurity teams or robust IT infrastructure to protect their assets. This leaves them more vulnerable to cyber threats and data breaches, which can have devastating consequences for their business operations and reputation.

Q: How do you promote transparency and strong governance within the tech sector?

Rouble Malik: Transparency and strong governance are crucial for building trust and ensuring ethical practices. Organizations must embrace transparency in their data handling processes, providing clear communication to users about how their data is collected, stored, and used. Strong governance mechanisms are needed to ensure compliance with regulations and ethical standards. Promoting transparency and strong governance allows us to foster an environment where users feel confident in the responsible handling of their data.

Q: What are some of the ethical considerations you believe are important in the tech industry?

Rouble Malik: The tech industry is constantly evolving, introducing powerful technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics. With these advancements come ethical challenges. It is crucial to consider the fairness, privacy, and accountability of these technologies. Organizations should proactively address these considerations, integrating ethical frameworks into their development and deployment processes. This is how technological advancements can align with societal values and let us avoid unintended consequences.

Q: Collaboration and knowledge sharing play a significant role in driving the industry forward. How do you encourage these practices?

Rouble Malik: Collaboration and knowledge sharing are at the heart of progress. I actively participate in industry discussions, collaborate with peers, and contribute to the advancement of the tech industry. My colleagues and I use social media platforms, industry conferences, or technical publications, to share insights, best practices, and innovative ideas. We try to collaborate and exchange knowledge in order to collectively address challenges, drive innovation, and create a positive impact on the tech industry as a whole.

Q: What is your vision for the future of the tech industry, and how do you believe your advocacy efforts contribute to that vision?

Rouble Malik: My vision for the future of the tech industry is one where security and ethics are ingrained in the DNA of every organization and business. I envision a landscape where responsible practices, transparency, and strong governance are the norm, and where technology truly benefits society. I feel that tech experts have a duty to advocate for a secure and ethical tech industry. I hope to inspire professionals and organizations to prioritize cybersecurity, data privacy, and ethical responsibility. Together, we can create a future where technology enriches lives and respects individual rights.
