DJ Rainbow Jail played in front of a crowd of 13,446 Jerry Maguire VHS tapes Friday night when Everything Is Terrible! opened the first (and last) Jerry Maguire Video store in Echo Park. The storefront is devoted to Jerry on VHS, while the back is filled with XXX Jerry Maguire Uncut (just kidding). With 13,446 copies of the film on VHS, and more coming in every day, the EIT! Jerry Maguire project is finally almost able to build its planned pyramid in the desert. It's an ever-lasting monument to Jerry — or at least until acid rain dissolves the last of our manmade structures.
The show runs from Jan. 13 to Jan. 29, noon-10 p.m., at iam8bit in Echo Park, with special ticketed events planned for each night.
