The Malibu Barbie Cafe Cruises Into San Diego In Time For Comic-Con

After sold-out runs across the country,  media experience brand Bucket Listers and Mattel, Inc. have brought the Malibu Barbie Cafe to San Diego.  

In collaboration with Mattel, the project is the latest brainstorm of  Bucket Listers President of Experiences, Derek Berry, who was also behind the pop-up phenomena Saved by the Max, The Golden Girls Kitchen, Family Guy Experience, and the Blockbuster Experience.

Just in time for Comic-Con, which kicks off on Thursday, July 24, the family-friendly pop-up restaurant and roller rink are inspired by the groovy beachside energy of 1970s Malibu, a time of carefree summer days when Malibu Barbie was first introduced to the world.

The perfectly pink pop-up resides in Bayside Kitchen and Bar and offers the ultimate Barbie experience of dining alongside a groovy roller rink. The fast-casual menu created by Master Chef finalist and Chopped Champion Chef Becky Brown includes Beach Burgers, Make Waves Avocado Toast, and Follow The Sun Fruit Skewers.   You can also create your own ice cream sundae or design your own cupcakes. There’s also beer, wine, and cocktails.

The pop-up also comes complete with exclusive merchandise and a variety of signature interactive activities. Proceeds from each roller skate rental ($1) will be donated back to the Cafe’s charity partner, Girls Inc. Special events, like cupcake decorating classes, paint parties, and 21+ skate nights, are also offered.
