The hardest part of going through a divorce is trying to work out an agreement when emotions are high, and trust is low. BlissDivorce makes this process much less painful and much less expensive for couples in LA and throughout California.
BlissDivorce is a tech-driven alternative to traditional divorce. It offers a comprehensive online platform that helps couples reach an all-inclusive, fair settlement without attorneys, even in contentious divorces. Instead of court hearings and endless attorney meetings, BlissDivorce uses AI-powered Digital Divorce Mediation™ to find compromises both spouses will accept. Once a full settlement is reached, certified documentation specialists prepare the required paperwork.
The platform is the brainchild of Scott Seidewitz, an MIT graduate and former LegalZoom consultant, and Randy Kessler, one of the nation’s leading family law attorneys.
The Platform
The BlissDivorce online platform streamlines the painful divorce process and eliminates the costly, high-conflict experience of traditional legal battles.
The platform is designed to guide couples step-by-step through the divorce process. It has comprehensive capabilities, handling issues such as property division, child custody, and child and spousal support. A personalized dashboard provides a clear picture of progress and gives users full control of the process.
Disagreements invariably arise in divorce. Even if spouses are on good terms, they can disagree on property division, child custody, and other issues. Disputes can be amplified when emotions run high.
The traditional way to resolve disagreements is to hire opposing divorce attorneys. They fight things out in an often long, drawn-out legal process.
BlissDivorce replaces this with an efficient, fair, technology-driven solution. The platform uses Digital Divorce Mediation™ to identify the AI-based compromise solutions both sides are most likely to accept. Spouses can suggest changes and use the solutions to make proposals to each other.
In more than 90% of cases, couples reach a full agreement with the AI-powered Digital Divorce Mediation™. Occasionally, cases require a few hours with a Zoom-based mediator to resolve the final disagreements. Even when Zoom-based mediation is needed, BlissDivorce saves couples months of pain compared to the traditional high-conflict process.
Company Overview
BlissDivorce was founded by a strong team, including Scott Seidewitz, a successful entrepreneur and former LegalZoom consultant, and Randy Kessler, one of the nation’s leading family law attorneys.
Seidewitz first recognized the need for BlissDivorce while consulting for LegalZoom. He saw how the adversarial system of hiring opposing attorneys led to a financially and emotionally devastating divorce experience. He reasoned that if technology could streamline the process and reduce conflict, families could be spared a lot of pain and suffering. This inspired his vision for BlissDivorce.
“I saw the pain that the current divorce system inflicts on families and wanted to do something about it. Technology was the solution,” says Seidewitz.
To bring this vision to life, Seidewitz recruited a top-flight team, including Kessler. Kessler is a past chair of the American Bar Association Family Law Section, a published author, a law school professor, and a regular commentator on CNN, CBS, and CourtTV. He helped set the vision and legal requirements for BlissDivorce.
“I’m a strong believer in empowering people to work out disagreements. I was on board with BlissDivorce as soon as I heard the idea,” says Kessler.
After extensive testing and development, BlissDivorce launched its AI-powered Digital Divorce Mediation™ technology in California in 2022. The technology has proven highly effective and has been used successfully in cases with up to $3.5 million in assets.
But what brings the most pride to the BlissDivorce team is that families can resolve disagreements and complete the divorce process without destroying their finances and relationships. BlissDivorce plans range from $1,650 to $3,950, depending on the needs of your case. This saves tens of thousands compared to hiring attorneys.
Future Vision for BlissDivorce
Given its success in California, BlissDivorce plans to expand nationally. It will first roll out in other states that, like California, follow “community property” laws. But the vision is national and beyond. “The sooner we can offer our platform nationally, the more families we can help avoid the pain of the current divorce system. That’s why we have aggressive expansion plans,” notes Seidewitz.
Ultimately, the BlissDivorce team intends to apply its AI-powered mediation technology to other legal fields. The technology can be used any time two parties have a disagreement and would prefer to work things out with less expense and less conflict.
According to Scott Seidewitz, the technology’s application is virtually limitless. He enthusiastically believes that “if you can resolve disagreements in an emotionally charged setting like divorce, you can resolve disagreements anywhere.”
