45-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Sage Road

HOUSTON, TX (April 17, 2024) – One man died Wednesday morning in a pedestrian crash on Westheimer and Sage Road. Police officers responded to the scene around 7:30 a.m., near The Galleria Mall, on March 27th.

Authorities reported that the driver of an eastbound white Volkswagen Jetta was passing through an intersection with a yellow light when the collision occurred. The pedestrian involved had entered the crosswalk despite facing a red light. The impact propelled the pedestrian onto another vehicle nearby.

Prompt witnesses administered initial assistance to the injured individual until emergency services arrived. Paramedics then transported the 45-year-old to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

After fulfilling initial responsibilities, law enforcement established that the driver didn’t immediately halt but eventually returned to the scene and cooperated with the ongoing investigation.
